Race Against Breast Cancer - Club Service Opportunity

Race Against Breast Cancer is one of our Topeka Rotary Club service projects.  CLICK HERE to volunteer for the many different choices and time slots - Friday Evening and Saturday for the Race.

The Race Against Breast Cancer is celebrating the 28th year of our 5K event on October 5, 2019. Thank you in advance for volunteering - this event would not be possible without the dedication of our wonderful volunteers!!! Please check in at the volunteer check in table when you arrive (this will be located in the center courtyard area at Topeka West) and we will direct you where to go from there!

Pillowcase Dresses - Help with Topeka High Interact Project
Here is a great opportunity for helping build our relationship with our new Interact Club at Topeka High School.  The member of the THS Interact are working on a project making "Pillowcase Dresses" for children in need in our community.  Please bring your items to the October 3 meeting OR drop them by Angel Zimmerman's Law Office on Quincy St. If you don't want to shop, cash contributions will be taken at the October 3 meeting.  The Interact students would like to start creating the dresses during October.
You are asked to help by providing some of the supplies needed for the Interact Group's project, which include:
  • Pillow Cases - new or gently used, plain or patterned or colored
  • Ribbon - satin or other types, plain or fancy, any color
  • Rickrack Trim - any size and color
  • Fabric Glue
  • Fabric Paint
  • Bedazzling Trim, e.g. jewels or similar decorative pieces
Contact me or Angel if you have questions.  Thanks for your help!

Why Give Blood?
Community Blood Center must collect almost 600 units of blood daily to meet the needs of area hospital patients.  As there is no substitute for blood, we rely on volunteer donors like you to supply the life-saving blood and blood components to hospitals in Kansas and Missouri.
Did you miss a meeting?
Did you miss a meeting?  Wished you had heard that speaker?  Just too hot to come to a meeting!!?  Thanks to Dave Heinemann, you can watch most of our meetings on the club's YouTube Channel.  Never heard of it? CLICK HERE to find out all about it.  Or click on "Club YouTube" on the menu bar at the top of the club website.  If you watch a meeting you missed, send an email to and you will receive an attendance credit as if you had been there in person.  Watch any club video for any missed meeting.
